There will be another after school club for Year5/6 starting up soon. This time it's purpose is to try and help with pupil well being. With all the demands of the curriculum and summer testing they need an opportunity to just switch off, and so I'll be offering an hour of relaxation as they sit and listen to a story being read to them.
Which story will it be? Well I did contemplate having Stephen Fry reading about Harry Potter, David Tennant reading about Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, or David Walliams reading one of his own books, but in the end I opted for a book I had read to a class many years ago; Bootleg, by Alex Shearer.
It's a tale where a government has gone too far, made everyone lead healthy lives and banned chocolate! Two chocoholic boys decide to rebel against the system and begin to make their own chocolate bars whilst trying to avoid the Chocolate Trooper police.
