Mrs Ward and myself are getting very excited now about our trip to Tanzania. Everything seems to be happening very quickly, we have had all our vaccinations- a total of 10 injections between us - and we didn't cry a bit!
We also went to London a couple of weeks ago to get our visas (to allow us into Africa) and to meet up with Theressa who will be meeting us in Musoma Tanzania. Theressa and her husband, Laban, told us what to expect on our journey through Tanzania.
We will be flying from Heathrow on Monday 25th August to Amsterdam where we will change aeroplanes and carry on our journey to Serengeti airport in Tanzania this will take us about 9 hours.
When we arrive at the airport we will stay the night in a town called Arusha and hopefully recover enough for the next stage of our journey - a gruelling 11 hours through the Ngorongoro nature reserve, (Laban and Theressa told us that last time they did this part of the journey, although it wasn't the rainy season, it rained, and they were marooned in the middle of nowhere for 12 hours because the bus got stuck in the mud!) so we're hoping the same thing doesn't happen to us!
The end of that part of the journey will be to Bunda, which will be our base for the rest of our stay and where we will meet up with Theressa, who will take us on to Musoma - and to the schools we are hoping to teach at!
Keep looking for updates on our journey and try to find the places I've mentioned on a map, so that you can follow us on our adventure.
