Eventually, two people wandered up towards the pickpocket, he sensed that someone was behind him so he quickly span around to see who it was. It was his wife and son! "Oh darling, I am so glad to see you." the woman gasped in relief. "I was so worried about you." She spoke as she swung the baby in her arms.

The woman pulled her key out of her dress pocket and unlocked the door. They all stepped into the house and they laid the baby on the table, and saw that he had not changed in anyway what so ever.
"It must not have worked yet." complained the pickpocket.
The woman asked him "What hasn't worked yet?"
The pickpocket answered,"Oh, didn't I tell you? A strange woman at the carnival told me to wish into a crystal ball and she told me that our son would be healed within a day. But I guess it has not been a day yet."
The pickpocket noticed that he still had the flower in-between his fingers, and that his wife was admiring it dearly. "I completely forgot, it's for you." the pickpocket said as he handed the flower to his wife. She loved it very much and kept it in a small, glass vase.
A day later, the pickpocket realised that he had been scammed. His son was still the same as before. His wife looked as if she had given up hope and there was no way to cure their son. Suddenly the pickpocket came up with a brilliant but devastating idea, though he did not exactly know if or how it would work.
