Save Our Shop!

Mr Benson, owner of the local shop in the village, has started a campaign to ban supermarket home delivery vans from the area. He feels that they are threatening his livelihood, as more and more of the local residents are shopping this way. He has written a letter of complaint, and would like other people to add their comments to it too.

To whom it may concern,
I run a small, local shop in a quiet village. For many years I have provided local families with their weekly shopping needs, as the travelling to the nearest largest town is too much for many of them to cope with.
However, I have noticed that over the past eighteen months your home delivery vans have been regularly seen visiting the small community around my shop. This has coincided with a fall in my sales, profits, and ultimately my livelihood.
I do not think that this is fair. I cannot compete with your low prices as I do not buy in bulk like you are able to. I instead have always served the population that you have never been able to provide for. With the introduction of your home delivery vans, you are now taking away my trade.
I ask you to reconsider your plans for home delivery, and allow small shops like my own to continue trading in areas well away from your stores, and include with this letter a list of supporters in my cause.

Yours sincerely,
Mr Benson, shopkeeper, Bectan Sands.

Kelly and Zak

Kelly and Zak, residents of Number 4, main street, seem like they'd never go together. But, as many know, appearances are deceptive.

Kelly, 25 years, old, mother of Jack, has long, brown hair and emerald green eyes. She is a stay at home mum, tending to look after Jack whilst his father's at work. Even with Jack, she likes the house neat and tidy, and often spends at least an hour a day tidying it up.

Zak, on the other hand, is the total opposite of her with short cropped, blonde hair and light blue eyes. He is away at work as the SuperMarket manager in Forest Town most of the day . Even though at work he is organised and composed, at home it is a different story as he is quite daft. According to locals, he once watered the flowers - not with water, with red wine.

Jack is a sweet little boy, the splitting image of his mother but the mind of his father. He is always bumping into things accidentally as he has just found his feet. He likes to spend time outside in the garden, playing around near the greenhouse and in the flowerbeds. His mother often scolds him becuase he gets so much dirt all over his clothes.

Who's around and about

So, what can you tell us about the people who live here in and around Bectan Sands.
There is some information about them in the articles about their dwellings, but what else do you know?

For example, if you read about the lighthouse, you'll discover the name of the local mayor of Forest Town - but what is he like?

And just who was Mr Tudor who used to live at Number 3, Main Street?

Also, the village shop seems to have it's fair share of customers - but who are they?

Oh, and who else might come to the village - and why ...
