Number 10, Main Street

Clare McCree.
Clare McCree is a fire-fighter and has been one for a year. She is 33 years old and her hobby is motor bike racing. She always races to work when there is a fire to get to. Her favourite song is "Pure and Simple" by the new group Hearsay (she has no taste in music!). Clare was divorced 5 years ago and she then moved to Bectan Sands with her 2 children Marlon and Jemma. She met Max and they got married last year. Clare likes to have peace and quiet and loves to walk along the sea shore and listen to the birds and the waves crashing. She is happy when her children are at school or at their dads because she likes the peace and quiet. When she goes to work with all her friends, she has a laugh. She likes Max's cartoons because they are funny. She likes going clubbing at Zanzee Bar with her mates. She is a great gymnast. When she goes to town she often buys Max and the children treats. She always goes to the park on her own and she eats lots of ice-cream. Her favourite flavour is coconut. She loves going on holiday with her family to hot places. Clare has light blue eyes and a nice figure. Clare has lovely blond hair. She has lovely pale skin and tiny ears.

Max McCree.
Max is 39 years old and he likes to wear Sylvester and Tweety Pie T-shirts! His job is to draw cartoon characters - he is a cartoonist. He loves to play tricks on Jemma and Marlon. He has brown hair, geern eyes and he has a tattoo on his shoulder blade which is a bulldog. Max used to live in Wales but he last year he moved in with Clare, Jemma and Marlon when he and Clare got married. His favorite meal is chips and burger or maybe its spaghetti bolagase but he always drinks fresh orange juice. Max has Taz Mania PJs that drive Clare mad.

Max works in his office at home during the day when everyone is out at school or work, but at weekends he loves to enjoy himself by watching cartoons with Marlon and Jemma, and drawing new ideas for cartoons with them both later on too. He is pretty cartoon mad! On Suyndays they try to all go out together to fun places like the beach. Max invented a new cartoon character recently called Blocky which is now in a comic called Blocky's Adventures. Blocky is a smart but devious character who gets up to alsorts! He has strange powers which make him do weird things and he can fly too. Jemma and Marlon love to go up to Max's office and read the new adventures before everyone else gets chance. Max is a very happy person and loves living in Bectan Sands.

Marlon McCree.
Marlon is 13 years old and is the only boy in the family. He is quite tall for his age and has light brown curly hair which he hates to comb! He has lovely brown eyes and a tiny nose. Marlon hates his ears but decided to have one of them pierced last month. He has a cap that he bought on his last holiday that he wears all the time the wrong way round. He dresses really cool and wears combat trousers, a long sleeved t-shirt with a short sleeved one over the top and trainers. He has a younger sister, Jemma, who gets on his nerves most of the time. He secretly likes someone who lives nearby to him! His best singer is Eminem. He is practising to play the drums and he can already play the guitar really well like a pop star! He likes to watch TV. His favourite program is Tasmanian Devil. His best friend is Thomas who goes round to Marlon's house so that they can do things together. Marlon has a full suspension bike and loves to ride on the BMX track in the next village and also likes to ride along the beach with his friends. He likes to play football and hockey but loves basketball best of all. He is one of the best players in his school team and last year he played in the County Team, which made him really proud. He sometimes plays ball with the Kingston's dog on the beach and likes to go for long walks to have a good think. Lots of girls like him but he doesn't like them!

Jemma McCree.
Jemma is the baby of the family and is 8 years old. She is just so girlie! All she ever wears is pink clothes with pink bows! Her best friend is Annie Kingston who Jemma thinks secretly likes to be girlie too. They love the same pop songs and spend hours singing and dancing to the latest hits. She likes to listen to Eminem and her favourite song is "The way I am". She loves her food too and her favourite meal is Sunday dinner YUM. She also like sit when they go out and she begs to have a Kebab and fish and chips with Ice Cold Milk. She goes round to Annie's house everyday to play dolls, but her favourite games are Stuck in the Mud and Cat and Mouse. Her very best shop in the Whole World is Toy Land which is just 10 minutes drive down the road, She only likes it because of the toys and she gets £5 off her Uncle and Aunt sometimes to go and spend in it. Her Aunt is the shop Manager and when Jemma goes in she's allowed to play on all the slides and swings that everyone else has to Keep Off. Sometimes Annie goes with her and they have a great time! Jemma sometimes sleeps at Annie's house too but when her Mum tells them to go to sleep, they tell ghost stories to each other till they are too scared to sleep. Jemma likes Max living with them because he's good fun and he cooks better than Mum.

Dumbledore and Hagrid the Kittens.
A friend gave the family 2 kittens a few weeks ago! They named then Dumbledore and Hagrid because the whole family are Harry Potter Mad. Dumbledore and Hagrid are very lively to say the least and get up to alsorts. Dumbledore has very bright fur and looks like a miniature tiger. He loves listening to music on the radio and tries to play with the dials - he sometimes frightens himself by turning the volume right up! He also likes us to pull a ball of wool along so that he can attack it but Mum goes mad. Dumbledore can always be found sleeping on Jemma's bed amongst her teddies. He likes to snuggle up with Jemma when she's asleep too.

Hagrdi is almost pure white but he has black paws and a black ear. He likes to play with Dumbledore and tease him too, but he's a bit rough back to Hagrid. They both try and play football which is really funny to watch. They both hate being bathed, which the family has to do sometimes because they get so dirty. They fight and scratch so everyone has to wear big gloves - well Mum does because the children make her to it. Its always fun having them around.

Tangular Tarantula.
Tangular is 4 years old and he has had his big fangs removed! He was saved from a fire by Mum from a house that was being hosed by the fire brigade mum works for. He always wants food and is always on the look out for a juicy fat fly. Tangular is specially trained and he can weave his beds nice and comfy. He is very popular with the childrens' friends and will sit and watch TV with them.
Tangular is about 12 cm across and is browny black - he's pretty big and has creepy beady eyes. He can certainly race across a room if there is food about. He gets places he shouldn't be like the time when gram came to stay. Poor Gran.

Number 9, Main Street

The cottage at number 9, Main Street, has moss covered, ragged stone walls. The roof is thatched, and the dark, old straw is hanging loose in patches.
At the front of the cottage there are two typical cottage style windows. Each window is criss-crossed with lead, and divided into four smaller panes. A white painted frame surrounds the windows.
In between the windows stands the red, solid wooden door. A silver metal letterbox can be seen just above the stone doorstep. Halfway up the door is the silver door handle, where the keyhole is hidden by a cap.
On the right hand side of the cottage there is a tall, narrow chimney, and a pot sits on the top of it. .

When you enter the cottage you step into a dark hall. On your left, you see a little, wooden table. On top of the table is a white, cordless telephone. A tall, brown coatstand is behind the front door. At the far end of the hall is an umbrella plant, looking wilted and brown because it has outgrown its pots.
On the left is a door leading to the only bedroom. A comfortable double bed is on the other side of the room. On both sides of the bed there are two pale, brown cabinets. Opposite the bed is a small round table with a portable television on top. Next to the table is a pale brown wooden wardrobe. To the right of the door leading to the bathroom is a dresser, and a three faced mirror sits on top of it. On the left of the door is a desk with a computer on.
In the bathroom there is a cupboard on the right where towels are stored and warmed. At the top of the cupboard is the hot water tank. A blue bath is fitted against the wall beyond the cupboard. On the other side of the bathroom there is a sink, underneath the frosted window. Next to the sink is a toilet.
At the far end of the hall is a door to the kitchen, while on the right hand side of the hall is a door that leads into the warm looking living room. In front of the window is a large, comfortable settee. In between the settee and door is a rocking armchair. A glass coffee table with golden coloured legs stands on a rectangular rug. Close to the hall door is a bronze bookcase with a few tatty looking old books on the dusty shelves. A stereo is in the corner of the room, close to the bookcase. Facing the bookcase, on the other side of the room is a polished, wooden mantlepiece, above an open coal fireplace. A television sits in a corner near to the fireplace.

A second door in the living room takes you through to the kitchen.
The kitchen is quite big. There is room for a long worktop. A window, behind the sink, gives you a view of the garden and beyond that to the sea. A farmhouse type table and two chairs can be seen in the corner of the kitchen. On the back wall a door opens into the conservatory, with its tiled floor, wicker chairs and many plants.

Number 8, Main Street

The cottage at number eight is a typical country cottage. It is a single floored cottage, built from odd sized old bricks that have turned a mouldy brown colour over the years.
There are two really small windows at the front of the cottage. Each window is made up of nine smaller windows and has a thin wooden frame around it. The frame is in need of a clean as it has begun to peel its paint, and reveal the rotting wood beneath. In between these windows is the front door.
The door is old looking. It has its white paint peeling from the wood. In the centre of the door is a large metal looking round door handle, and below this is a rusting letterbox.
The roof of the cottage is thatched and looks well looked after. The dark brown straw has been tightly bundled and packed to form the covering. Above the front door the roof is raised slightly. To the side of the house is a brick chimney that climbs the side of the house.

From the pavement you can see an orangey, brown brick path swirling towards the cottage door. To the left side of the path there is gravel; grey, black and hard. On the left of the garden near the fence are rows of sunflowers. The sunflowers are long, tall, yellow and very bright.
An apple tree has grown in the centre of the lawn to the right of the path. It's shiny, brown trunk has grown tall and straight and supports a large number of branches and leaves. The grass on the lawn is jewelled, green, dry, short and well kept.
Near the left side of the path there are some garden pots. These contain small, red rose bushes. Bordering the brick path and the lawn are some yellow, red, purple and orange colourful flowers.
An orangey brown picket fence surrounds the front garden. Its paint is peeling because of the salt in the sea air.
In the back garden there is a stone path leading from the house to the greenhouse in the left corner of the garden and beside it there is a big vegetable patch where cabbages, brussels and carrots are grown. There is a big silver birch tree at the far end of the garden, and on that tree is a small wooden bird box. A wooden fence surrounds the back garden.

The man who lives in the cottage is tall. His name is James, and he is fifty five. He has got lots of grey hair, but it does not cover his large ears. He has got sparkling blue eyes that peer out from his wrinkled face. His nose and cheeks are a reddish colour.
He works in Forest Town at a Bank. He always wears a shirt and a tie. In his spare time he goes on the web. James lives in the house with his wife - Rose. Rose is two years younger than James.

Rose has grey hair and bright blue eyes, like her husband. She is very short, only five feet and six inches high. She prefers wearing skirts or dresses to trousers.
Rose does not work, and keeps herself busy by sewing and also by cooking pies and cakes that are sold at the church on weekends.

Number 7, Main Street

Howard, the village vicar, lives in this house when he is not busy at the Village Church. Like most of the other cottages in the village it is a small, single floored building built from local stone many years ago. The front garden is kept neat and tidy, and is mostly lawn, with a small window box below both front windows.

The front door to the cottage looks sturdy and is made from solid oak. In the centre of the door there is a round, brass doorknob and to the left of this is the keyhole. The windows on either side of the door are divided into 6 smaller panes. One pane in each window has a frosted, round pane of glass in them, while the rest are clear.

The hall is clean, but does not look as though it has been decorated for a long time. The wallpaper seems to be very old and has large patterns with flowers on it. It comes halfway down the hall walls, and dark stained wood panelling continues to the dark skirting boards. A single table lamp sits on a table halfway down the hall, and an old fashioned telephone - with a rotating dial is next to it. There are several photographs in frames on the wall. All of them are of Howard standing outside several different churches.

A small front room is to the right of the hall way. There is a fireplace on the outside wall, and an open fire sits in it. On the stone fire hearth is a coal bucket, and several type of fire poker. Above the fireplace is a very large, antique looking mirror and a small mantleplace clock sits in front of the mirror on the mantlepiece. Close to the fire are two small chairs, turned towards the fire. There is a radio on a sideboard on the wall opposite the window, but no television. The sideboard also has many small picture frames containing photographs of a young man and woman, and more pictures of the woman on her own. At the end of the sideboard there is an empty stand for Paulie, his parrot. When Paulie is not on his stand, he stays in his cage. This is in front of the window looking out onto Main Street. His other pet - Bitzy - his border collie - sleeps in a dog basket placed on the floor in a corner close to the firewall,

Across the hallway there is Howards bedroom. There is a single bed in here, along with a chest of drawers and a wardrobe. The bed is an old looking bed. It is wooden and stained a drak brown colour. The wooden headboard is large and very ornate. On the bed are several folded blankets, and many sheets.

At the back of the cottage is a very small kitchen with a cooker, a small sink and a few cupbards, and a bathroom with only a toilet, sink and bath in it.

Looking around the house there are no radiators, and the only heat in the house seems to come from the fire. In winter time it must be bitterly cold.

Number 6, Main Street

House number 6 belongs to the Kingston Family. It is in the middle of the row, on the right hand side as you go away from the village. The first thing you come to as you approach the stone built house is a black wooden gate that is rotten and the paint is peeling off. As you go up the flagstone path-which goes directly up the middle of the garden-you come to a black wooden door that is also rotten and needs re-painting. At either side of the door there is a window that is made up of four smaller panes of glass. On the second floor of the house there are three windows to be seen from the front, one of which is frosted, as it is the bathroom window.

To the left hand side of the path there is a small rockery, with an overgrown periwinkle bush to the right hand side of it. There is another flagstone path that takes you around the side of the house where the backdoor is. On the path there are some planters with some dead rose bushes in them.
As you go into the back garden you pass the garage that is made of sandstone. It has a hole in the roof and is a bit derelict. To get into the back garden you have to go down a set of un-even steps. When you are in the garden, the first thing you see is the garden shed, which is made of wood that is a cherry colour. At the left hand side of the garden there is a wooden fence that is the same colour as the shed. At the bottom left hand corner of the garden there is a compost heap, which is slowly building up. In the middle of the garden there is a rotating washing line. The back garden, like the front garden, doesn't have any flowers or garden ornaments because Jackie doesn't really think about the garden. To the right of the shed there is a small pond that is very dirty and is a bit of a mess although the family, in the summer, have plans to revamp the pond. The only reason the parents of the Kingston children agreed to sorting the pond out is because the children agreed that they would help. The garden at the moment is a bit of a mess because the family have only been there for 6 months. The house they had in London didn't have a garden, just a yard, so Jackie is hoping to get interested in gardening, as now they've got a garden she doesn't want it to be a mess.

As you walk through the front door there is a hallway, which has a red carpet with bluebells on it. There is a gold-framed painting of the Kingston family on the wall. Since it is fairly dark you can hardly see the picture, but the frame stands out as the gold catches what light there is. There are two scratches on the front door because the Kingston's dog Scruff, always scratches it whilst trying to get out. On the stair banister, there is a dent made by Mr Kingston while he was dragging Annie's bed upstairs with Mrs Kingston. The banister is plain white.
The stairs has the same carpet as the hallway.

As you walk on, there is a peach door leading to the dining room. It is one of the largest rooms in the house. There is a very large mahogany table and six chairs, with a glass vase filled with ruby red roses. At the end of the dining room there is a big, wooden door that leads to the living room.
The first thing you see as you walk into the living room is a big multi-coloured settee, with a blanket over it to cover the rip that Scruff made, in front of a very large window. To either side there are two smaller settees to match. In the middle of the room there is a glass table on a blue circular mat with green tassels and a leaf pattern. In the left hand corner of the room, opposite the large settee is a 24' colour T.V, and a cabinet with a few photos in it. The carpet in this room is purple. There is also a door, which is camouflaged behind some plants in the left hand wall behind one of the smaller sofas. The Kingstons didn't know this door existed until it was found accidentally by Jackie whilst she was re-decorating the room at Christmas. When she pulled off the old wallpaper, she found the door that led to a very small secret room. Inside, she found old-fashioned clothes and toys in big boxes and also a small, wooden box that is locked and engraved with the initials ND.

The kitchen is medium sized compared to the other rooms in the house. They have tiles on all the walls, some of which are cracked, but most of the cracked tiles are near the floor, so you don't really notice them. Some of the tiles have purple and blue flowers decorating them. They have a round, light brown table in the middle of the room with leaves that fold up or down to make more room when required. The sink is opposite the oven. The hot tap needs fixing because it keeps on dripping even when it is turned off. The oven the Kingstons have is quite small so all they can put in it is a medium turkey. There are several spacey cupboards painted white around the kitchen - some of them being placed on the walls. These are filled with groceries, pots, pans, crockery and other types of things.

As you go up stairs, right at the end of the landing, you can see the bathroom. The walls in here are painted a light mint colour. The only tiles on the walls are at the back of the fairly large bath and the sink - they too are greeny in colour. The edge of the bath is cluttered with various shampoos and body washes, sponges and odd the rubber duck! They have no shower, much to the disgust of the kids ! The sink itself (which is to the right of the bath - with the loo being to the right of the sink) has no plug chain as Mr Kingston broke that off one morning (accidentally) whilst shaving ! Above the sink they have a large, rectangular mirror attached to the wall. On either side of the mirror there are small windows with peach coloured blinds. The only thing on the floor covering bare floorboards is dirty white bathroom rug, which has a border of fishes on it.

The room next to the bathroom is Adele's bedroom; she picked that one so she can get into the bathroom first. As you go into Adele's bedroom on your right there is a pine desk which is meant for doing her homework on, but there is no room because it is too cluttered up with make up and hair stuff! On the left hand side there is a wall where the wardrobe is. The rest of that wall is covered in pop posters. On the opposite wall to her wardrobe is her bed. She has a duvet cover, pillows and curtains that are matching. They have Chinese symbols on them. Next to her bed there is a pine bedside cabinet that has her T.V and C.D player remote controls on so she doesn't have to get up. On the opposite wall to her desk there is a window. On the window sill there is even more make up because she ran out of space on her desk. There is also all of her jewellery. Her walls are white because they haven't got around to painting it. Adele likes her bedroom much better now because she doesn't have to share with her little sister.

The room to the other side of the bathroom belongs to Mr and Mrs Kingston. The couple share a king sized bed. It is quite old so they are thinking of buying another one. Mr and Mrs Kingston have a big dressing table with a huge mirror, made of a dark wood. They also have a very large wardrobe made of the same wood and a chest of draws in their room - which is the largest of all the bedrooms. It is the worst decorated room in the house, with horrible, swirly, purple, patterned wallpaper and an old, green carpet on the floor, which they inherited and have yet to change.

Marks bedroom is like a bomb just hit it. He has no wallpaper but 73 posters do the job. His most treasured poster is one of Chris Jericho his second best is one of Triple H, because he likes throwing darts at it. On his bedside table there is a Bart Simpson alarm clock, and his T.V. with chipped Playstation. The view from his bedroom window is the fields, which he thinks is pretty boring. He has bunk beds for sleepovers although Scruff usually sleeps on the bottom bunk. Under the bottom bunk he has a loose floorboard, which he keeps sweets and marbles in. Strewn all over the floor is an assortment of play station games and sweet wrappers. When his mum tells him to tidy his room he hides the rubbish in the wardrobe, which is already crammed full of junk. Hidden behind the door is his first ever teddy, Bobo, which he secretly cuddles every night.

As you walk into Annie's bedroom you get a feeling of happiness. On the far side there is a bed with Winne the Pooh covers. She has a pine wardrobe and lots of cool clothes in it. Her wallpaper is a bright yellow with a Winne the Pooh boarder all the way round her bedroom. (She was the first of the three children to get her bedroom decorated and never lets the other two forget that fact!) She has a mahogany, antique Chester draw. In one of the draws there are some hats. In the second draw she keeps accessories such as hair clips, brushes and bobbles. In the third draw there is some jewellery, which she hides under her knickers. In the fourth draw she keeps her pyjamas and nighties. Annie loves her new room, but doesn't seem to spend a great deal of time in it at the moment, as there are far too many new things to go and do, or places for her and Scruff to explore as far as she is concerned.

The only other thing to tell you about the Kingstons is that they have two forms of transport.

Paul's motorbike is a Harley Davidson, which he uses to tour Britain; he also uses it to show off to his mates. It has removable saddlebags to carry his tools. Mark loves going for rides with his Dad on the back of the bike and says that as soon as he is old enough he is going to get a bike for himself.

The family car is a Land Rover. It is used most by Jackie because she is an on-call vet and needs a big boot for any really big animals. It is white with high beams for any night calls; it has big wheels and 4-wheel drive and is cleaned every week by Mark for extra money to buy wrestling T-shirts and Pokemon cards.

The Kingston Family have been in the village for just about six months now. They moved up from London into house number six, which is a fairly large, but not a very well kept house. There are five members to the family - or six if you include Scruff, the family dog.

Paul Kingston
Paul Kingston is the head of the house and is 36 years old and does most of the stuff around the house like D.I.Y. and cooking. Paul is a bit bald and likes wearing sunglasses he also likes wrestling T-shirts. He's got blue eyes he rides a motorbike. He has a bit of a beer belly and is rude at the dinner table. One of his pet hates are rodents - of any kind ! His best animal is a yellow python He likes to tell the kids off but is fair. If the neighbours need help he'll try to help them, as he is basically a good bloke. His favourite food is fast food and his favourite song is 'Rolling' by Limp Bizkit after hearing it from their boy so many times ! He dislikes soaps like Coronation Street and Eastenders. He also dislikes HHH and Steven Richards. He doesn't like paying bills. For a job he is a computer programmer and mends them as well, he travels a lot to London and Manchester etc, etc. One of his favourite things that he likes to do at home is to take the computer apart. This drives Jackie absolutely mad as it is often in pieces for days before he gets round to putting it back together again ! He feels the move will make the kids safer from the area that they lived in which they thought was particularly bad for the children, and will pull the family together.

Jackie Kingston
Jackie Kingston is 34 years old and is the mother of 3 children. She has long, bushy, auburn hair, blue eyes and never looks very smart. She wears mostly old, woolly jumpers and jeans with patches in the knees. She loves animals, particularly guinea pigs and domestic rats but as Paul dislikes rodents she can't keep them. Her hobby is horse riding. Even though she used to live in London, she still went riding, as there was a pony club near by. Her favourite possession is her grandmother's engagement ring, something that has become even more special to her now as she recently died. She hates wearing make-up and cosmetics unlike her daughter Adele. She also dislikes wearing high heels and fashion clothing. She loves her job; she is a vet who is often on-call. She doesn't get time to do house hold jobs, as she has to be ready all the time for calls. Her job is rather messy, as she has to deliver animal babies such as calves and foals. She also has to be quite fit because she has to catch injured wild animals. Her opinion of moving from London is that it was for the best because she thought her children needed some country air with less pollution, away from the crime and city problems.

Adele Kingston
Adele Kingston is 12 years old she is the oldest child in the family. She has hazel eyes and brown hair; she is average height and always wears makeup. She's a show off to the whole family she loves herself and likes being in the middle of things. She likes boys and her favourite possession is a ring that her grandma gave her when she was four years old. Her favourite music is pop and her favourite band is 5ive. Her favourite food is Chinese and chips also the animals she likes best are dogs, rabbits and cats. She hates her brother and hates her paper round. She does her paper round after school and she has a little job in the shop at the weekend. She is really popular at school and she always kind of gets on with her work, her favourite subject is maths but she would never tell anyone and her school year is 7. She often daydreams about how it would have been to stay in London because London has all the top fashion shops like Top shop, Tammy and Miss Selfridges and it is also nice and busy, but now she has moved to a quiet village and a boring one her opinion however, she is going to give the village a chance.

Mark Kingston
Mark is 9 and is the middle of the children in the family. He doesn't get away with many things because he is the only boy; much to his annoyance ! Mark has short brown hair and has many cuts and bruises as brain cells. He is usually seen in a Y.2.J. top and shorts along with his array of mischievous weapons. He is a boy that's bad to the bone and mischievous as the devil. His favourite band is Limp Bizkit and his favourite song is 'Rollin''. If he could have any meal it would be burger, chips and squirty cream. Animal wise he likes dogs and anything with big teeth. His favourite subject is football as he's a big fan of Chelsea because he's from London. The only things he dislikes are girls and pink. He also hates Triple H. Mark is in year 5 but usually jigs and has the I.Q of someone in year 3. His feelings about the move is it is very good because he has the best set of everything especially Pokemon cards. Because of this - and the fact that he seems to have a lot of spare cash - he has made himself popular with all the boys in the village.

Annie Kingston
Annie Kingston is seven years old. She is the youngest in the family. She has blonde long hair and sparkling blue eyes. She wears cool cloths such as baggy trousers, sports tops, trainers and a tricky top. She is always arguing with her sister. The thing she likes to do best is getting into mischief, sometimes such as playing a trick on her new teacher but Annie can be nice when she wants too. She likes bouncing on her bed and singing to Britney Spears. She can do lots of flexible things such as splits and back flips and showing off in front of her friends. She is 4 foot. She likes to eat ice cream, chips and chocolate and she doesn't like any thing her mum makes her. She has a dog-called Scruff and she plays with it more than her friends. She hates a girl called Lily because Annie is really jealous of her and Lily can be very nasty to her. Annie is really popular with her school friends and she is really brainy when it comes to doing maths. She does a French club and a maths club after school on a Monday. Annie was really excited when she moved from London because everyone called her really horrible at her other school, and she didn't want to go to school. She didn't like her house because she had to share a bedroom with her messy sister. She hopes when her house is decorated she will be satisfied.

Scruff the Dog
Scruff is the Kingston's pet dog that they got from the rescue centre. It is a Border Terrier that is not very tidy. He loves to play in the mud and after he has got thickly coated in it, Annie often has to give him a good scrub in the bath as well as having to clean the mucky paw prints off the kitchen floor. When he is not brown with dirt he is a lovely caramel colour. He has dark brown eyes and ears that are usually floppy, but which prick up at the mention of certain words such as walkies, food and cat! His tail is fairly long and is always wagging. He is very mischievous and is always scratching the back door and digging up the back garden, making Paul and Jackie cross. Even though he is always getting into trouble, the Kingstons still love him, particularly Annie.
