What a roller coaster season this has been - especially OFF the field, but at long last it has happened. Notts are crowned champions this evening. Who'd have thought this in March when we were 14 points behind the league leaders?
This is what the BBC sports website is showing tonight;
From the fiasco of Munto finance promising dreams at the start of the season, the arrival of Trembling, Sven, 4 managers, the threat of administration and a winding up order, through to a new chairman and a new manager there has been one regular feature: the players. They have kept their eyes on the target of promotion and managed to achieve it with everything else going on around them. Hats off to them. A fantastic demonstration of togetherness.
Party hard lads - the home game at the weekend is going to be a massive celebration and [hopefully] the official receiving of the champions trophy from the Football League.
Just one piece of news to slighty taint the night - Kasper Schmeichel will be leaving the club at the end of the season. He's walking away from his 5 year deal in order to save the club a huge wage bill as the chairman works on repairing the huge debts that Munto and Trembling ran up in their brief time in charge. However, Kasper's going to walk away from the lane as a hero - he's set a new record for clean sheets for the club - and with the best wishes of everyone.
