I explained to the class how to login as a pupil, and once logged in showed them that there was a folder specifically for the class to use. I had previously populated this folder with relevant content for the current areas of learning within our maths lessons - so there was Table Mountain for them to practice their 9x tables, as well as several problem solving, and place value, activities.
They took to it instantly (mainly due to the fact that they had used the software in school before so knew how it all worked), and remained on task throughout the lesson :o)
They were working away really well within these tasks - many were individual tasks, but one was a two player and some children had already paired up to challenge each other in their maths learning.
As the lesson drew towards the close, they went onto the school website and left comments about their thoughts on this new resource;
"I enjoyed using interactive resources because you can play all the maths games that you have at school at home for free. I think that interactive resorses are a great way to learn your maths at home. So if you have a maths test you can revize"
"the maths at home thing is really good because it helps you learn and all the games are free to play on at home,libary,in the car everywhere but my faviorate one is power lines and table mountin."
"This interactive Recoures is helping you learn your times tabels,additions,subtractions and your division.As we could only play them at school now we can play them at home aswell so you can learn everywere so that is great and we love all the games"
"I love the games because your learning and playing at the same time! My favourite games are powerlines, spin to win and table mountin.i thik that the interactive resources is very good because you can have fun and at the same time you are learning to do your maths like on the game tabble mountin you can learn your times tabbles up to ten times tabble and on the game power lines you have to work out were the numbers go i think it is good"
You can read all of the comment here.
I think we're onto another winner here - just need to show this to the rest of the staff, and get them to populate their areas with relevant content too.
