Social networks are great - they can keep family members miles (even continents) in touch, they can be used as a great Personal Learning Network, or even as a way to continue teaching when a school is closed due to bad weather.
However, the case of Craig Lynch shows why some people need to think twice before using it.
Craig Lynch, for those who do not know, had been serving a prison sentence at Hollesley Bay open Prison for aggravated burglary. That was until September last year when he absconded. Rather than lie low, he set up a page on facebook and started taunting the police with his new found freedom.
Well, now the muppet is back behind bars - at a secure prison - after police tracked him down and arrested him yesterday (Tuesday). Did he not think that using the internet to post about his status on a social networking site would not leave a digital fingerprint that the police would be able to use to track him down?
What a muppet!
