Think of a new year, and you think of resolutions. I've no resolutions to mention here, but these are my 2010 "targets" for the school website / VLE / LP / whatever you want to call it!
* ALL staff to post articles in their class area on a regular basis. This might involve publishing an image of what a lesson created, a link to pupil files, a thought about the lesson. Posting articles about lessons means that pupils can then respond and comment about the lesson.
* ALL pupils to access their learning spaces and post regular (daily if possible) posts about what they have learnt at school, with links to work as appropriate.
* Find an RSS feeder that I can use to merge all pupil learning space RSS feeds into one central feed that can be put onto the staff area of the website allowing school staff to see the latest additions to the pupil learning spaces.
* Staff to place more resources in the school wiki. At the moment there are limited resources for one year group, and MFL. I would like this to increase to cover all school ages and all topics.
* All staff and pupils to use their email accounts to communicate with each other / share their work (pupils) / share their planning (staff)
In addition, I've also set myself these general ICT targets;
* ICT to become embedded throughout the curriculum
* Pupils to decide when ICT is appropriate for their learning, and use it effectively
* Ensure connectivity to the internet becomes stable and reliable (slightly out of my hands, but still a target)
Come December 2010, we'll see how the targets have gone!
