A few minutes ago I was sat watching the news with my iPhone in hand (let's be honest - it's never far from me nowadays!), with the Tweetie2 app running when a tweet came in from another user;
That sounded like a challenge, so I headed to the laptop to begin making a list. Within minutes another user (@simonhaughton) had set up an etherpad and, along with @skinnyboyevans, all three of us were quickly writing down embeddable objects / activities and services that could be used on a primary school website / learning platform / VLE / etc. Our suggestions updated instantly on each others screens so we could see what was being mentioned (and what had not yet either).
For all those who say that social networking has no place within education and is a distraction - just think about how long that challenge might have taken without the use of a social networking site, and a little bit web2.0 collaborative magic. Marvellous!
