Well, it's almost that time again. The start of a new term. This one's a bit different for me though, it doesn't feel like I've been off for the summer break, it feels much longer - and to be perfectly honest it is. If I take out the phased return days I did before the summer it's actually around 21 weeks I've been off work. No wonder I am ready to get back.

Hurrah - my quest has been completed! I've reached the end of the "set up". I've managed to get all pupils within school set up with their learning spaces, set up their categories and posting access privaliges.

I've mentioned Embedit.in before - because I like what it does. Take a file. Visit their site, upload it, copy some code and embed it into your website / blog so that others can view the file on screen without the need for the same software, or a "reader".

I'm thinking about how we're going to continue moving forward with ICT within the school over the next few years, and I know that video conferencing is going to play a bigger role over time. I'm now looking at two possible options to enable us to see people we speak too; Flashmeeting, or Skype.

I received a lovely email from VirginMedia last week informing me that I could get a free - no strings attached - speed upgrade from 2Mb to 10Mb just by visiting their GoFaster website. Brilliant I thought - less time waiting for iPlayer episodes to download, less freezing when everyone is trying to use the connection at once, everything would be quicker. How wrong I was...
