The news is good. I've been to the cardiologist who ECG'd me, then ultrasounded my heart. Apparently the surgeons did a good job patching me up, and I'm making "good progress". Yesterday I went to see the occupational health department and they've given me the all clear to return to work.
So, once the half term break is over I'll be starting my phased return to work. I've seen my HT, and we've agreed a timetable (subject to change!). First session back will be the Monday afternoon - but I'm not teaching; I'll be doing admin work (marking those optional SATs) on the Monday and Friday morning, and won't set foot in the class until week2, and that will only be for 1 lesson working alongside the teacher who's been covering during my absence.
It'll be a slow return, but a return none the less. 6 weeks off school might have sounded like a great idea, but it's driven me stir crazy. Oh to be back in school. :)
