I called into my school this moring - the first time I have done do since working for trAce full time in January - so that I could have a chat with the Headteacher about options in September.
It was so weird going to the school after lessons had begun, and made me feel more like a 'visitor' than a [seconded out] member of staff.
And the place was so quiet (there was a maths SAT paper taking place for the Year6 children) so the whole school was working quietly as not to disturb them. I'd forgotten how quiet SATs made the school, and how my classroom, being next to the Year6 class, has to be especially quiet. It's the one week of the year that the children in the room are not allowed to leave using either door until a message arrives telling them that the test has finished.
